  • Beloved husband of Debbie. Much loved father of Shaun and Collin. Proud grandpa of Jax (Canberra Times obit)
  • “During my watch as Senior Curator Moving Image / Film, Steve was enthusiastically engaged in the challenges of copying the Corrick Collection, constantly seeking ways to preserve the images of a diverse range of films, source and condition-wise. Even for the most extreme ‘basket case’ films (where nitrate was barely hanging together or sprockets shredded), Steve and his NFSA Motion Picture Laboratory staff worked tirelessly to find ways to rescue treasured and unique artefacts. Steve was always proud of and encouraging of his staff, including youngsters who shared his resolve to do the best by film-to-film preservation standards, inching a fragile film frame by frame through 35 mm duping devices that in a number of cases they’d invented or modified for the task at hand.” Graham Shirley
