Members of AMOHG were pleased to welcome the new CEO of NFSA, Jan Muller, to its December meeting at NFSA’s Sydney office in Pyrmont.

AMOHG was started over two decades ago (as the FilmMakers’ Oral History Group)  by Martha Ansara.

Besides continuing as a dynamic member of the group, Martha is the author and compiler of The Shadowcatchers – a lavishly illustrated history of cinematography in Australia published by the Australian Cinematographers Society; and at the meeting, AMOHG’s current chair Barbara Alysen presented Jan Muller with a copy of the book.

Following the presentation, Muller spoke with the group about his background before joining the NFSA, and gave us an early taste of his ambitious plans for the organisation – plans which he has more recently elaborated – to his staff and Canberra media, and which have already aroused some enthusiastic discussion among industry and archive followers.

AMOHG meets every three months, usually with a talk and discussion on an aspect of Oral History. For more information email .
